Cross Hanging
This is a batik done in naphthol dyes on cotton, in the Indonesion canting technique. It is three metres long by one metre, and I made it in a narrow laundry, and dyed it in a side passage which was not unlike a wind tunnel. I have always worked under whatever domestic conditions I had. They weren't always salubrious.
