Bird Dancer
Iboriis 12th Century Post Imperium: The Bird Dancer cult appears to have originated on Nrat-Tuan as a women's secret society. From there it slowly spread to Irusaq, where it became, not a religious movement, but a theatrical tradition, drawing thousands of spectators to the regular, seasonal performances. Its adoption by the Iboriisi was governed by their Bird God cult, and now it seems impossible to imagine the Bird God ceremonies without their colourful, acrobatic Bird Dancers. The Dancers are attached to the Shamans as acolytes, and are required to perform at the great annual sacrifices. The Dance serves both as worship of the Bird God, and as a distraction for the crowds during the sacrifice itself. Feelings can run high in the various villages over the selection of the victims, and the Bird Dancers are trained for riot control, as well as in the complexities of the Dance, each movement of which is significant to the sacrifice. All Dancers are specially trained in martial arts over and above the normal Iboriisi.
