Collaborata Mollusca
A boxed book about a year’s collaboration with snails. Each day, I put out manila folder pages [they wouldn’t work on any more superior surface] - dipped in beer – we had a huge drought and the weather was lethal, and they would not eat in hot weather. Every morning I would take the pages inside, with their contributions to the book. I Googled snail information and they ate that nicely, so I used it to line the box. Inside the box is a little inset with a perspex window filled with snail shells, and in the top of the box is another inset with a whole snail-eaten brochure. The binding is a concertina spine with 80 pages glued in, and the pages also feature my drawings and selected information and comments as well as the snail art. Other paper used is Thai plant-dyed leather-like paper.
