I instictively use pattern and after I did this I read a book on painted African houses and found that they used exactly the same combination of colours as this shrine. The little figure is made from clay, and bamboo roots, moulded around a little bottle with a bird's head. It doesn't really mean anything, other than a spontaneous response to all my reading and learning about my past.
